Vans

So, I got a very special package in the mail today from a talented young lady out of Chicago (well she's from Cali, but goes to school with my brother in Chicago). She is the girl behind Farmtown Denim and Leather and has been honing her skills at making leather and denim goods over the past few years since my
Little bro got her to grab a pair of raws while on vacation a few years ago.Stories aside, here is what I had her create for me:
She announced that she was going to indigo dye some shoes (inspiration from Andrew of 3sixteen) and figured since the 3:16 guys did chucks, she wouldn't step on their turf, and decided to do some Vans (more of her Cali roots anyways).
When I heard, I knew I had to get a pair of my favorite shoes of all time done - the Sk8-Hi.
Here is the result:
Dipped for a total of 8 times
Love how even the "leather" and rubber areas soaked up some color (sure it will slough off very quickly)
Better not wear these on my white carpet as the sole had some indigo stick as well
She threw in this cool extra - might I add what cool Packaging this is - and yes, that is a hand indigo dyed strand of yarn hiding the butcher paper together:
What was inside
Overall, I can't believe how awesome these are -
I'm sure other people have done this or will inevitably do this as well, but I'm happy "thinking" that I'm the only person with this super deep, super unstable 8 dip indigo dyed Vans sk8-HisHere is a link to her etsy - and she does custom work as well http://www.etsy.com/shop/farmtowndenim#

Thanks man! They are pretty awesome - wearing them right now. Now sure how long the indigo will hold onto the canvas, but she had a pair of classics she dipped only 3 times and the color has lasted a long time even in the snowy chicago winter.

great shit adam…i'm sure monday is going to pick up a pair of these
I'm not sure the next time she will do another run of these as she did them at her home in Cali while she was on break from University, but I would be happy to help orchestrate a run between the IH forum people and her

agreed & plus i think i might buy a watch strap from that young lady, so i got to thank you for the plug to her itsy store.
No problem dude! I can't speak highly enough of her work - and to think she is still in college -
she uses some cone denim and has made connections with some other denim brands to get some of their "extra" materials as well, so she has some pretty unique stuff. She made a wallet for me and it has held up extremely well.Enjoy it!

need a size 9 willing to do an 8.5. figures never hurts to ask.
almost forgot they are WTAPS x Vans Vault from 2013
best bet is ebay @monday.but it will be way2 overpriced. WTAPS vans collabs sells out like candy every time it released. and most of the time resellers that bought them.
nice indigo vans sk8 hi on earlier posts!
