I'll trade my Neanderthal ep's for a IHSH-24. ::)
One new band I've been digging is Vile Gash. The demo's were pretty disposable, but the ep that youth attack repressed is completing raging.
Nate, were you not in Jesuit as well? Tell Eyestone to hurry the f up with that discography already.
never get rid of those neanderthal eps! you'll never find them again.
i love that vile gash lp. pretty much everything on youth attack is great these days. such a good label.
yeah i played in jesuit, the discography has been slow coming out because he has other active bands on the label that kinda take priority. I promise that its really close to being done though. The remix/remaster sounds great and the artwork florian did for the cover is outstanding.
SO stoked on the hardcore thread!!

Nate/Converge as in Nate from Channel? I want to say I've met you at some point… name is Raul. I used to hang out with Mandel a lot in SoCal.
tvshooter, your first show was rad. I would have killed to see Lifes Blood... and well everyone else at that show.
my cousins where OCHC/punk kids in the 80s. they'd take my little ass to shows every summer when I stayed with them. didn't start going regularly until the early-90s. i did a single issue of a zine that nobody really saw called Chain Reaction.
this thread is getting insane, yeah thats me. small world!! i saw Mandel over the summer in LA with Kevin Finn.

Where is Brent anyway?.. Doesn't he love and wear Iron Heart jeans???
I'll invite him to the thread. He and I nerd out about clothes all the time haha.

Yeah, my friend Nate and I started getting tired of the regular "go to a record store" routine when traveling some years back and started getting into good clothes to wear at home. We usually tend to go for pre-war American brands that haven't changed much (Filson, etc.) over the years. Are you familiar with The Stronghold? If not, and since you dig Iron Heart, you'll love this place:

I knew I'd kinda freak you out with that post haha…
But yeah: small world... So how many of y'all love His hero is gone but haven't heard All is suffering?..

yes, it was, forever burned in my brain altho it wasn't my first HC show. my first punk show was prob around 85. . .Lethal Aggression at the Brick Roller Rink- first time i saw stagediving and punk rockers, was like, "what the f. . . " in high school me and my friends were heavily into skating and stuff. saw a TON of bands at (CB's, Pyramid, ABC No Rio, City Gardens, Fast Lanes ect.,) from 88 till 94 then i kinda lost touch with the new skool stuff. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago. . .

YOU RANG?
Jesuit discog : Nate - still need your liners and lyrics! I'll also put up a hard deadline for contributors tomorrow on the site and elsewhere. I've got a decent amount, but feel like we need a few more things for it to feel right.
Also, congrats to Iron Heart for getting $320 from me today.

i'm sitting inside the world headquarters of Equal Vision Records at the moment as i type this. I'm about to go get lunch with my boys steve & dan.
my first show was in dec of 88:
Gorilla Biscuits (never showed)
Sick of it All
Raw Deal
Laughing Hyenas
Screeching Weasels
Sponge Tunnel
24-7 Spyz (cancelled)i've been going to shows for way too long. i've been away from home for a week now and i'm meeting back up with my friend's band here in albany tonight and going to a few more shows with them. i've been sleeping on crappy couches and floors and taking showers in cruddy places. i'm too old for this touring business. so hats off to all of the dudes that keep doing doing it. i'd rather be home hanging out with my dog, cat & lady eating good food and sleeping comfortably. My Iron Hearts keep me comfy though.

Its getting pretty VLV in here.
Also Youth Attack puts out a lot of good shit, but… The fact that McCoy can put whatever price he wants on anything and the legion of newage hipster hardcore kids will pay whatever he wants for a 1 of 5 trashbag t-shirt is kind of silly, and not very true to the DIY hardcore ethic.

true, but in my old age i've stopped caring about collecting so as long as i can listen to it i'm pretty happy haha.

VLV GO AWAY!
-
i'll be honest. i dont know what vlv is.
-
I was talking to Tom, but VLV is, well… Imagine a more dramatic but less testosteron fueled B9-board...
haha sorry. didnt mean to butt in.
but that sounds, well…..sort of awful? hahahhaa.
on a completely different note....i just discovered (late pass) that the dischord site has most records for digital dl for pretty cheap. They have some gems on there like the Deadline Lp and the United Mutation Ep. Hadnt heard them in years and they were both 3 bucks. awesome!
