IHC-06 - 21oz Indigo Denim Cap
-
These look really cool! I look forward to grabbing one.
Tangentially, I just lost (camping): a 1954 NY Giants cap reproduced on the original equipment and found out that the company that made them are being fucking sued by New Era over MLB trademark rights or some other BS and have consequently closed up shop, most likely permenantly. Full wool six-panel construction with extra, breakaway stiching for size alerations and a horsehide sweatband. Nicest ballcap I've ever owned and I miss the hell out of it.
Edit: This thread made me try to track down the owner, so I'll be emailing him today to ask that he grant me a special request. crosses fingers

The hat looks great, definitely up my alley. It looks fitted, I hope there is a wide range of sizes (I wear size 7 3/4 in New Era caps).
-
I love that it is made to be folded and put in your back pocket while riding. Genius!
-
Giles - you know we're a pain in the a….any chance you could convince Haraki-san to make a few in sb ???
SuperBlack/ Herringbone/ Cotton Duck Caps a possibility?
Agreed!
-
I'm sure we can. He is still not 100% happy with the patteren and is working on perfection at the mo'. Here is his latest update to me:
_Regular 21oz, CAP (IH-461 as denim) made 1st sample.
Improvement is still needed, the image of what I think about is able to form.
Shape is rather shallow part of the head flange is slightly longer, and make points without getting to the brim core
In the presence, or out of the pocket can be folded this way.The back of the hat body, so I put another piece of cloth, and he has the look and feel fine.
2nd sample is made up_
Any clearer now :)?

Will any of these be overdyed like the 634S-B? I would really go for one with red logo, with everything overdyed in black.
-
Can we not do one at a time? Simon, that might be good for this thread…

i like the first pic (baseball cap). not into the second pic (engineer cap) although i love the material. g, can the master do an "ivy or driver" style cap with the chambray material
i had that jcrew chambray driving cap… but unfortunately my brother took it and never gave it back
-
I'm far more interested in a ballcap style rather than an engineer cap. I like the ballcap pic up there, just curious how it fits. It looks to be a bit deep.
I agree. The Fitted BallCap style is where its at! Need to see a picture of it on G when he get's to The Works on Thursday! I do however disagree with the depth. I need depth and HATE hats that are shallow. I hope this hat works for me. I really want an indigo dyed forehead!!!!!!!
-
Not into ballcaps but a narrow ivy duckbill style hat would ROCK
-
for me, its the ball cap. i cant do the engineer bit.
yo pete that kangol in a tight denim would work.
i still like the mesh back idea, but it doesnt have to be that way for me to order one (really its two and in each color)
is it too early to request the superblack version?
..and just because im typing , geee, hickory stripe and brown duck?
all in black mesh of course…
only kinda kidding...

I'm really digging both and +1 on substantial depth in the crown.

Amen. Let Haraki-San do his thing. Pretty sure everyone has been happy up to this point. Do you honestly want one of everything in every color to come out at once so we can all be broke??? I sure as hell don't.

This is a good point and it made me chuckle, because as it is I'm broke, let alone if I needed to purchase 8+ different varieties of ball/workwear caps. Seriously, I really like the texture of the simple indigo. I am a huge fan of wool hats though and if Haraki wants to stitch one up, I'd be on board. I guess this the point where I say:
Hi, my name is Kevin and I'm a recovering cap-aholic. I have not purchased a ballcap (I didn't need…)in over 5 years.
