Oni Denim

I'm looking at this and would like to know if anyone has this awesome looking (but $685) model. Is it as awesome as it looks?
-
the last question is always a very personal thing and I don't think you can answer it 100% objective
-
Just saw these on Blue In Green and I am quite impressed by the way the fabric looks. I like that texture: low tension/slubby are words I picked up from BIG's site but they fit.
Anyone has them? Impressions?

you linked the wrong pair
here's one pic of them from BiG's homepage:
and yeah THIS is slubby. Oni and PBJ brings the term slubby to a new level. Most other denim that say they are slubby are really smooth in comparison (yes, also the 18oz IH denim but also TFH denim, Denime and many more)

The Oni slubby, irregular denim is fun stuff. The feel of it is unique, and because it's low tension woven, it's very breathable and comfortable. The 18 oz fabric feels much lighter than it is. I rather like the Blue fit, too.

No i really meant to discuss the new 20oz model
I think its dope, not as unique as the 18oz supper irregular/slubby, but quite exciting nonetheless -
Yeah later I figures out you might wanted to talk about the 20oz model. But your description of slubby and low tension lead me to the 18oz model. Because in my eyes the 20oz Secret denim is not so slubby at all
-
Agreed, the 20oz Secret Denim is not slubby or irregular.

Does anyone have experience with the 14oz Oni denim? I'd be interested to hear, as I quite like the look of it.
These guys look interesting (although I'm still not too keen on the Oni pockets arcs!)

No experience with the 14 oz, but I have a pair of the 18 oz and it's very cool. Lots of texture, well constructed, soft and smooth on the inside. Probably worth a shot.
As for the pocket arcs, a stitch ripper can fix that, or you can just wait for them to wear off; they're 100% cotton, so it shouldn't take too long.
-
2" in the waist, 2.5" in the inseam, .5" everywhere else. That's after 2 hot washes, so pretty standard, I'd say.
Should point out that I didn't get mine from BiG, so it's possible that the batch they have will act differently.

I kinda like them. And they're certainly less ugly than Studio D'Artisan and Strike Gold arcs. Especially the SDA arcs; those look like something my daughter would draw, and she's only 15 months old.
-
Hey, I love the SDA pig. I bought a couple of Studio tee shirts just for the pig. The arcs suck, though.
