Watches - another OCD problem

something about females wearing pams that attracts me….

I'm not familiar with Bruno Söhnle but Watchbuys, our Sinn distributer carried them. When the contract ended, they sold them pretty close to cost. I figure at 60% off, I'd give it a shot. The brand mostly sells quartz watches, but they also have a mechanical line both of which are made in Glashütte. It's no Lange or Nomos but the build quality is good and they even decorated the Ronda movement. Not bad by my book!

Hodinkee pitted a Milgauss and a Master Chronometer against a 4,000 Gauss magnet for science!
It's a fun read, and should appeal to those of us who like antimagnetic watches, along with the Rolex fans. Makes me think that I should save up for an Air King.
Meanwhile aBlogToWatch compared a Rolex Submariner to a Tudor Black Bay. Unfortunately no mad science was involved in the article, but I figured that the Rolex and Tudor aficionados around here would appreciate it.

I was really surprised to see the new Rolex Daytona in steel with the ceramic bezel in a local dealer. Turns out that they're currently displaying the whole 2016 range as samples, not as pieces for sale.
Since you need to sacrifice your firstborn to get onto the waiting list, and I don't have kids, I figured that it'd be rude not to try one on.
Firstly, you're all wrong about the white dial being better.
I don't really get the hype either. The Hodinkee hypegasm makes it sounds like the watch can turn water into wine, cure cancer, and give a no-hoper like me sex appeal. It's a nice watch, but I still prefer the Air King. There, I said it.
Speaking of which, I can't remember if I posted this a few weeks ago or not. I got to try one on at a local dealer.
They also had the new Explorer in, which is a very nice piece. The lumed 3, 6 and 9 numerals look good. If it's still in when I next visit, I'll grab a photo.

I've wanted one of the G-Shock GPS Gravity-master models since they came out (a couple of years ago) but I didn't want to drop a grand on one. I finally found one at a super price and it's everything I'd hoped it would be. It's bigger than I thought, but fits my arm very comfortably. The GPS works much faster than my old Astron and feels a bit sturdier. I imagine it will be on my wrist a lot this summer.
